Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor joined Soulfly for the first time on Saturday, June 24th at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium for a rendition of the Soulfly's "Jumpdafuckup".

A Metal festival will be held in the Lakatamia Amphitheatre on Wednesday, 5th of July.

Οι Εκκλησιάζουσες είναι το τελευταίο έργο του Αριστοφάνη και η τρίτη κωμωδία (μετά τη Λυσιστράτη και τις Θεσμοφοριάζουσες), που έχει γυναικεία υπόθεση και μάλιστα πολύ «προχωρημένη»: Οι γυναίκες της Αθήνας, με επικεφαλής την Πραξαγόρα (Αννίτα Σαντοριναίου), αφού μεταμφιεστούν σε άντρες εμφανίζονται στην Εκκλησία του Δήμου - γίνονται δηλαδή εκκλησιάζουσαι - και υποστηρίζουν την ανάληψη της εξουσίας από τις γυναίκες. Επιχείρημά τους είναι ότι οι άντρες έφεραν την πόλη στη δεινή κατάσταση που βρίσκεται τώρα, ενώ οι γυναίκες μπορούν να τα καταφέρνουν μια χαρά με τις παραδοσιακές μεθόδους που εφαρμόζουν στη διαχείριση του νοικοκυριού. Οι πολίτες πείθονται, με τη συνδρομή βέβαια των μεταμφιεσμένων γυναικών που έχουν κατακλύσει τη συγκέντρωση. Έτσι εφαρμόζεται η κοινοκτημοσύνη στα δημόσια αγαθά, η πολιτεία αντιμετωπίζεται σαν ένα ενιαίο νοικοκυριό, με κοινά γεύματα αλλά και με κοινό κρεβάτι! Δεν υπάρχει πλέον ιδιοκτησία στις ερωτικές σχέσεις, αλλά προτεραιότητα έχουν οι γηραιότερες γυναίκες: Όποιος θέλει να πάει με μια νέα, πρέπει προηγουμένως να ικανοποιήσει τις μεγαλύτερες. Οι νέοι κανονισμοί γίνονται αφορμή για σπαρταριστά κωμικά επεισόδια και το έργο κλείνει με το κλασικό αριστοφανικό γλέντι.
Ο μεταφραστής Κωστής Κολώτας επισημαίνει ότι οι ιδέες του έργου είναι καινούργιες, πρωτάκουστες: όχι μόνο η πολιτικοποίηση των γυναικών, αλλά και η στέρηση των πολιτικών δραστηριοτήτων από τους άντρες και η κοινοκτημοσύνη. Αυτές τις ιδέες θα τις βρούμε, αργότερα, στην Πολιτεία του Πλάτωνα.
Ο σκηνοθέτης Γιώργος Μουαΐμης αναζήτησε το ανέβασμα του έργου τη σύγχρονη εκδοχή των αντίστοιχων πολιτικών και κοινωνικών καταστάσεων.

Now this is just AWESOME!!

The fest will be in Bulgaria, from the 3rd of August to the 9th.
Loads of bands (74 I think) and were talking about really big names! Prices are also reasonable, with tickets around 160 lv (around 46CYP) for the whole of the festival. Air tickets are also cheap, as is accomodation.

Finaly Nicosia has its own Rock Bar!

The bar is called Iris, and is exactly opposit the large car park at the city walls, before Zoo club (as you approach Eleytheria Square).

It is relatively new (around a week old I think), but it seems word goes around as yesterday it was nearly packed..

The place is great, nice decor, and great music (AC/DC, Motorhead, Metallica, Iron Maiden etc).

Prices are also very good - draft beer is only 2CYP, very good for a bar.

Well I hope you check it out, its definetly worth it!

Well, Lordi did it all right!

They scored waaay over the other countries (russia was second) and really took over Eurovision!

You just had to see the look on the Greek presenters face when she had to kiss them! I fell of my chair laughing!! ;p

Well, lets hope this signals a new era for Eurovision, with less crap and better songs!

Some great names in this one.. be prepared to listen to Βασίλης Παπακωνσταντίνου, Πάνος Κατσιμίχα, Μάνος Ξυδούς and of course, Μιλτιάδης Πασχαλίδης!

Now theres no excuse in missing these gigs, so take your ass down there!

I wont be able to attend unfortunately, as it will be held in Limassol and it was just too short notice. Κίτρινα Ποδήλατα would certainly be worth seeing, as of course Μαχαιρίτσας, Τσακνης, Καζούλης and Ζιωγαλάς.

Hello guys... sorry for the long time to post but Ive been busy.. anw new event coming up!

On Thursday 11th of May, RED will host Johhny & The Liars.

Now, Ive never heard the guys, but they definetly sound interesting. According to the flyer, they will be playing mainly rock, featuring tracks of their own and the like of The Who, Offspring, Muse, Elvis Presley and more!
Apparently, the guys also have a website (http://www.jliars.com/).

Additionally, the opening will be done by AMNESIA, which will be playing Greek rock, and boy do these guys know what theire doing! Last time they played, they were awesome, playing anything from Πασχαλίδη to Magic De Spell, and very well too. Highly recommended.

There will also be a DJ set from Johhny Deviant which again I dont know, but may be of interest to some.

The gig will be held at RED, at 9pm. Entrance 4CYP.
